USA Track and Field is proud of each of our coaches who go the distance to make a difference in the lives of our athletes on their journey towards making it to regionals in San Marcos,TX this week. Not only do they coach athleticism, they coach values for life. Several of our coaches even manage tough schedules as accomplished athletes themselves!

ABOUT COACH SLOAN:
*Hometown: Chicago, IL
*Current Residence: Harker Heights, TX
*USATF Certified Official
*Retired Army Veteran (Sergeant First Class)
*USATF Masters athlete currently ranked #2 in the nation and #3 in the world for the 400m intermediate hurdles in the 50-54 age group.
*Represented the USATF Southwestern Association at the 2014 USATF Masters Invitational in Sacramento, CA; winning the bronze medal in the 400m IH.
*Surpassed the 400IH Master’s All American standard of 68 seconds by running a time of 65.01 at the Desoto Swift Invitational on May 24, 2014.
*In 2006, Sloan was inducted into the DePaul University Sports Hall of Fame where he still holds the school record in the 400IH with a time of 51.66.
*Currently in Master’s of Business Administration degree program at Texas A&M University - Central Texas campus.
*Competes for Explosion Masters Track Club (Chicago, IL)
